In 2018 primaloft reached out to the creatacor team with the prospect of designing their new outdoor retailer booth. Theri 2017 booth had run its course due to its Materials, Weight, Setup complexity and lack of internal space. Not satisfied with their current booth builder, I was tasked to help design a concept that would win Primaloft to the creatacor team. Working from the initial concepts I would go on to help develop the new booth over the next 4 shows, designing display models and units to fit that shows target.
Create a light weight and sustainable booth that could hold at least 50 people for meetings in a 30'x70' space. Primaloft also wanted to have high visibility of their booth on the event space without the use of any rigged signs. Due to the client being focused on their environmental footprint, Primaloft had decided to forgo using a carpet in the booth adding the challenge of hiding wires in on the concrete floor.
After initial discussions with the Primaloft team I was tasked with designing a few solutions that would win over the client. Due to weight being a factor, I designed the booth using Aluminum BeMatrix system walls which also allowed for easy installation. the use of recycled fabric materials also cut down on weight while also providing a sustainable option. In order to tackle the issue of booth visibility without rigging, The concept of having a tower became the obvious choice. Standing at 24' the tower was topped with 3 halo lit signs allowing the Primaloft Booth to be seen from across the exhibit hall. once the concept was approved I then jumped to the role of 2d helping with the design and producing the graphics. Working with outsourced vendors on the fabric I would use the internal large format Roland Printers and apply the vinyl graphics that were in the booth. Once the booth had shipped I would then go to the show site and oversee the booth installation. Working with the instalers I was able to adjust plans to help ease any confusions that were onsite while helping direct which part of the booth should be built first. Using the exterior walls we were able to sneak the wires around the outer walls reducing the wire visibility. as the shows continued I went on to help design custom wall structures and model display units for primaloft to show their new fabric and relentlessly responsible techniques.
